Background Info via Royal Coffee Importers:
ATPROCAFES stands for Asociación de Productores, transformadores, y comercializadores de café de la zona rural sur del municipio de Ataco Departamento del Tolima. Cradled between other well-known growing regions, Tolima's emerging reputation for specialty coffee production remained hidden in plain sight for many years because armed conflict and coca leaf production isolated small coffee producers and exposed them to high rates of violence.  ATPROCAFES was founded in 2012 to support farmers eager to produce quality coffee using sustainable agricultural practices.  With established connections in the specialty coffee market, ATPROCAFES has improved coffee prices for its members, which enables farmers to reinvest in their farms and provide for their families.
